Covid-19 support from local volunteers
CovidCall provides a free phone service for volunteers to provide local people in self-isolation with local advice and social contact.
Increase in flytipping
We have noticed a real increase in flytipping across Balsall Heath and Sparkbrook particularly in our parks.
We ask if residents have “eyes on ” if they are self isolating or observing the government instruction to stay at home during the corona virus crisis if you obseve vehicles pull up and fly tip please forward any information that we will then forward to Birmingham City Council. This criminal practice impacts our environment and costs the tax payer huge sums of money in clean up bills.

Ashiana Community Project are offering a free, impartial and confidential telephone helpline, Monday – Friday, 12pm-2pm for anyone wanting advice or someone to talk to. Call or text 07941 364 718 / 07918 077 777.

Grow veggies & flowers for Seven Streets Pocket Park and keep the children busy with a fun activity. FREE growing kits delivered to residents who live near Seven Streets Pocket Park (opposite the City Farm & Children’s Centre on Clifton Road). Bought to you by General Public on behalf of The Active Well-Being Society.
Donations of food urgently needed (home collection)
An urgent callout from The Sultan Bahu Trust who are providing a Foodbank for the elderly, single parents and key workers in need in B11 and B12.
They have limited supplies of the following items. If you have items you wish to donate, please contact 0121 440 4096 or friends@bahutrust.org and they can arrange delivery direct from your home.

Support from the Muslim Women’s Network
In this time of uncertainty and self-isolation, I am writing to let you know that the Muslim Women’s Network UK (MWNUK) is still open and we are currently working from home. Calls are being diverted to mobile phones, also emails and web chat are fully functional. Referrals can still be made to those who seek help and advice.

Bike loans for emergency frontline staff
In light of the current situation with public transport being reduced and the need for key workers to get to work safely, The Active Wellbeing Society are loaning their fleet of bikes to those people working on the frontline emergency services and whose work is critical to the Covid-19 situation.
