Thefts from motor vehicles

WM Police have published this warning about thefts from motor vehicles.

During this time of year we get a lot of reports from the public with regards to Theft from Motor Vehicles. Please report any suspicious behaviour via 101 or our West Midlands Police Live Chat.

Below are some tips on keeping your vehicle and valuables safe.

*Please ensure that you do not leave anything valuable in your vehicle for example phones, sat navs and laptops and remember the first place a criminal will look is in the glove box or under the seat!!

*Make sure you lock your vehicle and activate the alarm if you have one.

*It only takes a thief seconds to enter your car, so whether you are popping to the shops or de-icing your vehicle always remove the keys.

*Try and park if possible in a well lit area, on a drive or in a garage. When out and about look at car parks which are identified by the ‘park mark’ icon. for more information visit www.parkmark.co.uk
