Moseley Misfits Curbside Concert

Let’s join together on Thursday 14th May at 8:05pm to play and sing the song “You’ll never walk alone” to celebrate our key workers and come together as a community.

Whilst we stay apart, lets us get together under one unifying cry

What are we doing and why?

My name is Reuben, a musician from Prospect Road, Moseley. Over the last few weeks my partner Rosie and I have enjoyed seeing all our neighbours come out of their houses with pots, pans, instruments and voices every Thursday for the NHS Clap. With my background as a co-founder of the Moseley Misfits, we decided to encourage our neighbours to play something together.

We have chosen “You’ll never walk alone”. Since the world has been initiating self isolation, this song has picked up a certain poignance and feels like a fitting tribute to our key workers and a reminder that we stand together.

We will be encouraging members of our street to perform this from their doorsteps on Thursday 14th May at 8:05pm straight after the NHS Clap and we have created all the materials for you to do the same with your street!

Arrange this on your own street:

  1. Download and print flyers (not forgetting to cut along the dotted line) and and spread around your street, remember to follow social distancing!
  2. Fill out the really short google form below. (It’s absolutely free to take part)
  3. Download the part you need from the link at the end of the completed form. There are instrumental parts in all keys and a lyric sheet. (You’ll also receive the link in an email so you can download your part at your leisure)
  4. Find the Moseley Misfits Facebook or Twitter pages and like or follow (we’ll be posting updates and videos to these pages)
  5. Be ready to play from your doorstep/drive/window… after the NHS Clap on Thursday 14th, as soon as the clock strikes 8:05pm take it away!
  6. If you can, film or take a photo of your road and post it to your social media with the hashtag #curbsideconcertuk

Remember, it is important to stay on your property and stay 2 metres away from others as to maintain social distancing but we’ll be together through sound. The louder you are, the more connected you’ll be to the people opposite/next door.
