Can you help #FeedBirmingham?

The organisations in Birmingham who help to distribute food to those in need, are running extremely short of food and we are now at the lowest levels ever seen since the Coronavirus epidemic began.  We are asking our communities to come together to help.

There are two ways in which you can help.

Option 1: Would you be willing to put a cardboard box outside your front door that your community can put spare tins or dried food such as pasta, jars of sauces, cereals etc into.  Our aim is to have one box in every street across Birmingham.  These boxes will then be collected by one of the West Midlands Police volunteer van drivers.

Option 2: Do you have access to a van/large vehicle and would be willing to collect boxes of food from people’s homes or other locations and take them to the collection point in Edgbaston.  If you have access to a van, (and you are covered for this use by your insurance company whilst volunteering) please let us know if you haven’t done so already.

The request is simple;
Organise your family, friends and neighbours to give donations to help #FeedBirmingham
Arrange a local collection point – this could be as simple as a cardboard box outside your front door or a box/basket at your local store.

Share details on social media with as many people as possible about the collection point and encourage donations of tinned and dried food only (this service is not suitable for fresh food)
Once full, deliver the boxes to St Mary and St Ambrose Church on Pershore Road on Fridays between 11am-2pm or email bhamvolunteers@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk.

Further information can be found at www.feedbirmingham.org where you can download leaflets and posters.  Please feel free to decorate your boxes and colour in the posters with your children, you can send your pictures of your boxes and posters to the above email address and we will share them on our social media pages.

Many thanks #Staysafe
