Volunteering in Birmingham: Building a Shared Way Forward

As a part of Volunteers’ Week 2019, BVSC is holding an event for volunteer-involving social action organisations in Birmingham. The event to be held on Mon 3 June will be a morning of discussion and co-production around the future of volunteering in the city. The event will focus on working together to articulate a collective Birmingham voice around volunteering into 2020 and beyond.

Activities in Sparkhill

ISRA UK is an independent non-governmental organisation (NGO) founded in the UK in 1984. Our mission is the relief of poverty, sickness and the advancement of education in any part of the world, with the vision to instill change, hope, and prosperity to lives of many. We provide a broad range of charitable activities for impoverished and suffering communities in Britain and across the developing world. We focus on health, education, clean water and orphan sponsorship schemes.

Our work in Birmingham is to bring together the diverse members of the area to encourage community spirit & assist those who may face disadvantage through social isolation, mental health, low income or homelessness. It will have a strong ethos on promoting community participation & social inclusion.

We run many activities in our community space in Sparkhill. These activities includes: Coffee Mornings, Sewing club, information days, training opportunities and workshops
