Please be aware there has been an increase in Burglaries around the Sparkbrook, Balsall Heath and Calthorpe area.

Please be aware that we have had a number of burglaries (residential burglaries) in the Balsall Heath and Sparkbrook areas. These offences have occurred across the ward and at different times so there is no particular pattern however in the majority, offenders have forced entry from the rear snapping locks to gain access. Property stolen mainly includes jewellery, cash and electric items. Residents are encouraged to be vigilant and report and suspicious activity. Practical measures which can be taken to improve your security are: Secure all doors and windows. Leave a light, radio or TV on. Close all curtains and blinds. Tell a trusted neighbour that you are out. Make sure gates allowing access to the side and rear of the property are secured.
