Cllr. Tony Kennedy has been finding out how West Midlands Transport are getting with considering a new station for Balsall Heath. Their Policy Officer replied to him saying:
‘In summary, we will be carrying out some demand forecasting in-house that will allow comparison of demand from the Camp Hill line stations and we have commissioned an external agent to investigate the feasibility of constructing a station in Balsall Heath. We have identified three potential locations where a station could be sited in Balsall Heath; the two decommissioned stations – Brighton Road (shown as it was back in the day above left) and Camp Hill stations- as well as the new location identified in the neighbourhood plan. As such, the commissioned piece of work will assess these potential locations.’
There is no detail as to methods of inquiry at the moment, but there is a promise that the eventual report will be available to read.
