Updates from Moseley Road Baths

Welcome to the November update from your historic community pool.

Welcome to the November update from Moseley Road Baths CIO. We’ve had a busy few months at the baths, which has included welcoming back the new season of the popular Carpe Aqua and hosting some special events including ‘Splash Metal’ and ‘Lighting Up’ a celebration of Diwali by National Trust, which transformed Pool Two with creative lighting on the weekend of 26/27th October.

On December 6th we are hosting a very special screening by Flatpack of Easy to Love! Screening as part of BFI Musicals (more information below).

In other news, we are currently training a new cohort of female volunteer lifeguards, who will support our ongoing commitment to providing women only swimming and expanding the successful Chat & Splash sessions.

Finally, we are also gearing up for Christmas and have a range of merchandise perfect for that unique stocking filler. See below for more details…

Want to make a splash in your community!

Your remarkable community pool has been in continuous operation since the early 1900s. Having been saved from closure by harnessing the power of our local community, volunteering is an essential part of the operational model that allows us to keep swimming at Moseley Road Baths.

We already have a fantastic team of volunteers but we have a rolling programme of training and recruitment to ensure we have a large team able to support our plans to expand the activity on offer for the public.

If you think you could invest a few hours a week to support the pool, get in touch to discuss our roles.

Carpe Aqua is back!

Carpe Aqua’s new season has launched! What started as a one night affair in November 2018, quickly became a regular event and during last winter over 600 people came to float and chill in the candlelight to a sound track ranging from Stan Getz to Nick Drake via Prince, Brian Eno and and lots of other artists at their mellow best.

Tickets for November have already sold out, and places are limited, so don’t miss out on this magical sensory experience. Did we mention the water is warmer than The Caribbean…

Easy to Love. Not to be missed!

Screening as part of BFI Musicals! Flatpack presents Esther Williams in the early 40s ‘aquamusical’ Easy to Love at Moseley Road Baths

Tickets are now on sale for this Busby Berkeley romp, featuring some incredible show-stopping song and dance [and swim] numbers. There are two ticket options – in the pool (inflatable provided), or poolside (chairs provided).

Prior to the screening, the City of Birmingham Synchronised Swimming Club will give a short performance.
