New Local Train Stations coming
Great news post by Balsall Heath Is Our Planet below. Have your say about the designs at the consultations.
At long last…. Local people are being asked for their input into the designs for new rail stations at Moseley, Kings Heath and Hazelwell (all closed in 1941). There is now funding to build them.
Below are the times of consultation events, beginning this week, when you can see the designs for the new stations.
Not Balsall Heath station, however, because although it was strongly supported at the Street Festival and the Carnival and is in the Neighbourhood Plan, and has been surveyed, according to WM Rail Executive, and a feasibility study is currently underway, there is no funding to build it in the current programme. Therefore from 2022, two trains an hour will go through Balsall Heath, but not stop. Unless the case is made and money can be found some other way. However, we should all benefit from fewer journeys and less congestion on the Alcester/ Moseley Road when stations are open.
Consultation on the designs are open for anyone to call in to view information on the station proposals, talk to the team and share views.
