Funding Boost for Edward Road Baptist Church Community Hall

Edward Road Baptist Church is celebrating a £7,096.80 funding boost from SUEZ Communities Trust for their Community Hall and facilities – flooring modernisation project.

Edward Road Baptist Church Hall is located to the rear of Edward Road Baptist Church in Birmingham. Funding has allowed for replacement of tired and worn vinyl flooring and carpet within the main hall and several communal areas. The existing flooring has been replaced with non-slip vinyl. This will improve safety and hygiene for all users, in particular babies and young children who move about closer to the floor during play sessions. The previous division between carpet and vinyl in the hall has been removed making this area more appealing and user friendly for activities such as fitness classes. Previous funding at this site allowed for roof, toilet, and heating improvements.

Sheila Pennington a trustee of Edward Road Baptist Church, who is leading the project said “We are very grateful to both SUEZ Communities Trust and to Allchurches Trust for the grants which have enabled this work to be completed.”

Marek Gordon, Chairman of SUEZ Communities Trust added “SUEZ Communities Trust provides funding awards through the Landfill Communities Fund. We were delighted to be able to offer funding to Edward Road Baptist Church.”
