Fire at Old Clifton Road School
A fire broke out on Monday 22nd April at the former Clifton Road School. St Pauls Trust’s CEO Lisa Martinali has put out a statement.
Yesterday afternoon, a fire broke out at the old St Paul’s School site, next to our current School building. All pupils and staff were quickly evacuated and are safe and accounted for.
The fire caused significant damage to the old building. Whilst our current building is unaffected, the old building and its surrounding areas have been cordoned off while the damage is assessed, and the building is structurally secured. We are fully supporting the police and fire service with their enquiries and investigation into the cause of the fire.
In the meantime, we are arranging an alternative site for lessons and will keep parents/carers and pupils informed. The old building has stood since 1888 and held a lot of history; it is therefore a very upsetting time for our school and community. Please support our colleagues and community at this time.
