A programme which aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness for the over 50s is launching a friendliness campaign outside the Library of Birmingham, Centenary Square, on Friday 20 March 2020 at 2:30pm.
The Make Someone’s Day campaign aims to help make Birmingham a friendlier city, tackling loneliness and social isolation at its cause by encouraging people of all ages to start conversations while out and about.
Join us as we speak to members of the public about the importance of the campaign. Seven local councilors have already confirmed their attendance at the launch.
In Birmingham, almost 57,000 people aged 65 and over are living alone, increasing their risk of being isolated. By making small conversations with new people a habit, we can increase the number of connections people have.

Make Someone’s Day is supported by Birmingham City Council. It is led by Ageing Better in Birmingham, a programme funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. We aim to reduce social isolation and loneliness for people over 50 in the city by increasing their social connections.
