The update lets you know about Birmingham City Council’s services, public health information, general advice on Covid-19, and other relevant news from the council and our partners so that we can keep you informed. If you have friends and family who are not online, please share the information in this bulletin with them.

Following new guidance from the government, the council has increased the number of mourners allowed to attend funerals from six to 16.


The council’s Public Health team has developed an engagement campaign to further support BAME, Disabled, and LGBT communities, citywide, during the coronavirus pandemic.


Small businesses which have suffered financial hardship due to COVID-19 have until 14 June 2020 to apply to be considered for a discretionary grant payment, in the latest measure to support businesses impacted by coronavirus.

On Monday 8 June, main works on the Perry Barr highway improvement scheme will begin, meaning some changes to travel in the area. The highway improvement scheme is one part of the wider regeneration of Perry Barr. The aim is to keep disruption to a minimum, but some will be unavoidable.


As aspects of daily life begin returning to normal, the city council is preparing to reintroduce parking charges and enforcement activities from 15 June.
