Coronavirus Update from Your Local Police
We’re now over a week into the new phase of restrictions put in place to control coronavirus and it’s clear that everyone has a role to play in helping to do this.
Thank you to everyone for continuing to follow the government guidance and adhering to social distancing. We know this isn’t easy but it is so important that we carry on following the rules so that together we can stay alert, control the virus and save lives.
Keeping your children safe online
Screen time for children is unavoidable right now and there’s lots of resources available to ensure they stay safe while online.
‘Think U Know’ have a series of home activity packs which parents and carers can do with children to support their online safety. Find out more on the ‘Think U Know’ website.
Remember to also take a moment to check who your children are talking to online.

Diary of a key worker
This week, Dawn Willis from our Contact team is featured in our ‘diary of a key worker’ series, which brings you the personal stories of our officers and staff who are working across the force to keep you safe during this pandemic.
Dawn is a Contact Officer and is normally the first point of contact for 999/101 calls and Live Chat. As Dawn has an underlying health issue she is working from home and her role is now dedicated to Live Chat.
She lives in a busy house but her family have been really supportive especially with her working shifts. She’s created a dedicated home office but finds it strange working at midnight while her family are all in bed or on a weekend when they are all relaxing.
